AI Readiness Assessments for South Bay small businesses.
A written report that tells you exactly where AI, automation, search visibility, and follow-up can help your business – and where spending money would be waste. Three flat-priced tiers from $499. Real research, not an instant scan.
What is an AI readiness assessment?
An AI readiness assessment is a written analysis of your website, local visibility, technical SEO, GEO/AEO visibility, lead capture, reviews, follow-up paths, and realistic automation opportunities. It identifies where AI and automation can save time or grow revenue in your specific business – and which AI investments would be a waste of money. At Roving Leads, you receive your assessment as a PDF report, with three flat-priced tiers starting at $499.
Most AI consultants charge $2,000 to $8,000 for an assessment. We charge $499 for the Lite tier because it is focused, not shallow: the core visibility, conversion, follow-up, technical SEO, GEO/AEO, local/web properties, and automation issues most small businesses need checked first. If a simple tool solves the problem, we say that. If the deeper tiers make sense, we explain why.
The goal is honest. Where would AI actually help in your business? Where are you already paying for AI features you’re not using? Where would AI investment be wasted? You leave with answers, not a sales pitch.
Is an AI readiness assessment right for you?
If you’re nodding at three or more of these, the assessment is the right place to start. Pick the tier that matches how deep you want us to go.
- You’ve watched 20 AI YouTube videos and still don’t know where to start in your business.
- Your team is using ChatGPT inconsistently – some are good, some never opened it.
- Your competitors are talking about AI and you’re not sure if you’re falling behind.
- You’ve been pitched expensive AI projects and you don’t know how to evaluate them.
- You suspect there’s an obvious AI win in your business but you can’t put your finger on what.
- You want a written second opinion before committing to any AI vendor.
- You run a small business in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, El Segundo, Torrance, Hawthorne, Gardena, or Carson – and you’d rather hire local.

Local/web properties
Website structure, service pages, local signals, Google/profile presence, and the pages search and AI systems need to understand.
Lead capture & follow-up
Forms, booking paths, calls to action, confirmation messages, follow-up gaps, and places leads may be leaking.
SEO analysis
Keyword presence for South Bay searches, technical SEO, on-page issues, local SEO health.

What the report actually looks like.
Here’s an excerpt from a recent (anonymized) assessment for a Torrance professional services firm. Lite is a focused written report. Full and Pro expand into deeper diagnostic and strategy sections.
Anonymized: Torrance professional services firm, 8 employees
Add a chatbot to the contact page. 67% of your website visits land on the contact page outside business hours. A trained chatbot ($30/mo) could capture leads, answer FAQs, and book appointments while you sleep. Estimated 15-25 additional leads/month.
Don’t pay for the “AI marketing platform” you were quoted at $1,200/mo. 80% of what it does is achievable with ChatGPT Team ($30/user/mo) and Notion AI ($10/user/mo). The remaining 20% isn’t relevant to your business model. Save the $14,400/year.
Your Google Business Profile is missing four AI-citable signals. Hours, services list, FAQ schema, and recent posts are all empty or out of date. Fixing these would make you 3-4x more likely to be cited when prospects ask Perplexity or ChatGPT for “professional services in Torrance.”
Set up a custom AI agent for client follow-up emails. Your admin spends ~6 hours/week on follow-ups. An AI agent trained on your voice and templates could draft 80% of these in seconds. Estimated 4-5 hours/week saved.
Every recommendation in your report includes: estimated cost, estimated time saved (or revenue gained), confidence level, and whether it’s a Roving Leads service or something you can DIY or get elsewhere.

AI Readiness Assessment, frequently asked.
What is an AI readiness assessment?
An AI readiness assessment is a written analysis of your website, local visibility, technical SEO, GEO/AEO visibility, lead capture, reviews, follow-up paths, and realistic automation opportunities. It identifies exactly where AI or automation could save time or grow revenue in your specific business – and which investments would be a waste of money.
Roving Leads delivers a written PDF report with prioritized recommendations and clear “do this / skip this / fix this” labels for every finding. Lite is usually delivered in 1-2 business days. Full and Pro are usually delivered in 1-3 business days after payment and complete intake.
How much does an AI readiness assessment cost?
Roving Leads offers three flat-priced tiers:
- Lite – $499 – focused core visibility, conversion, follow-up, technical SEO, GEO/AEO, local/web properties, and automation opportunity assessment
- Full – $999 – complete diagnostic across business context, web presence, competitors, backlinks/citations, automation, revenue impact, and opportunities
- Pro – $1,499 – Full diagnostic plus backlink targets, AI guardrails, first automation, improvement targets, strategy, social playbook, roadmap, owner decisions, follow-up plan, and strategy review
Industry standard for AI assessments is $2,000-$8,000. Our pricing is lower because the tiers are scoped clearly: Lite is focused, Full is the complete diagnostic, and Pro adds the strategic action package.
How long does an AI assessment take?
Lite is usually delivered in 1-2 business days after payment and complete intake. Full and Pro are usually delivered in 1-3 business days after payment and complete intake. All three include an intake form and a final PDF report.
Why is the assessment not instant?
Because this is not an auto-generated scan. We do real review work: checking the website, mobile experience, search visibility, local signals, AI/GEO/AEO visibility, reviews, follow-up paths, technical issues, and the business context behind the recommendations. Automated scraping can collect data quickly, but it does not explain what matters, what to fix first, what is likely costing you leads, or where AI/automation is actually useful.
What is GEO and AEO in an AI assessment?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is making your business citable by AI search engines like Perplexity, ChatGPT search, and Google’s AI Overviews. It’s the new SEO for AI-first search.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is structuring your content so AI assistants quote it directly when answering questions. Think of it as: “When someone asks ChatGPT ‘who’s the best contractor in Torrance?’, does your business get named?”
Both are included in every Roving Leads assessment tier. They’re table stakes for any small business that wants to be visible in AI-driven search over the next 3 years.
Do I have to buy any other service after the assessment?
No. The assessment is a complete deliverable in itself. Many clients use the report to do the work themselves, take it to another vendor, or sit on it for 6 months until they’re ready. We’d rather you trust us with the next project than feel pressured into one.
If you start with Lite or Full and decide you want the deeper assessment, your original assessment payment can be credited toward the higher tier within 14 days of delivery. You only pay the difference.
Can I share the assessment report with my team or another vendor?
Yes – it’s your report, you own it. Share it with your business partner, your accountant, your existing marketing agency, whoever. We sometimes get hired specifically because clients took our assessment to their existing vendor and used it as a benchmark.
What if the assessment finds AI isn’t actually a fit for my business?
Then that’s what the report will say. We’ve already told prospective clients in the Torrance area that AI would not move the needle for them at their current stage. A useful “not yet” is better than selling work that should not be done.
Are you in the South Bay? Do you only work locally?
Yes – Roving Leads is headquartered in Redondo Beach, California, and we work with small businesses across the South Bay (Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Gardena, Carson) every week. But we also serve clients nationwide. Assessments are delivered remotely either way; in-person strategy time is included with Pro, and local in-person options can be discussed when they actually help the work.
How is this different from a “free AI assessment” from another agency?
“Free assessments” are sales calls. They’re designed to get you on the phone so the agency can pitch a $5,000+ project. The “assessment” is usually 4-6 leading questions and a one-page summary that conveniently recommends their highest-margin service.
Our assessment is a paid, written deliverable that exists separate from any other service. It might recommend us. It might recommend a $20/month tool. It might recommend you do nothing. The point is to give you a clear decision document, not a dressed-up sales call.
