Accessibility statement
We’re building this site to work for everyone. Here’s where we stand and what we’re still working on.
Last updated – May 3, 2026Our commitment
Roving Leads is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology. We believe that if you can’t use our site, we’ve failed at the most basic job of a website: being useful.
This isn’t performative. Roving Leads is a small team building our site iteratively, and accessibility is a priority at every step – not an afterthought bolted on after launch.
Standard we target
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. That means:
- Content is perceivable (text alternatives, captions, sufficient contrast)
- Interface is operable (keyboard navigable, no time traps, clear focus states)
- Information is understandable (readable language, predictable behavior, error prevention)
- Technology is robust (valid markup, compatible with assistive technologies)
We target AA, not AAA. AAA has requirements (like 7:1 contrast ratios and sign language for all video) that would significantly limit design flexibility for minimal real-world benefit. AA is the practical standard that meaningfully improves access for the largest number of people.
What works well
Areas of the Roving Leads site that meet or exceed AA requirements:
- Pass Semantic HTML – proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, lists, and native elements throughout
- Pass Keyboard navigation – all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard
- Pass Color contrast – text meets 4.5:1 minimum (most exceeds 7:1), large text meets 3:1
- Pass Focus indicators – visible focus rings on all interactive elements
- Pass Alt text – all meaningful images have descriptive alternative text
- Pass Text scaling – content reflows correctly up to 200% zoom
- Pass Dark mode – respects system preference and maintains contrast in both themes
- Pass Reduced motion – animations respect
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query - Pass Form labels – all form inputs have associated labels and clear error states
- Pass Link purpose – link text is descriptive (no “click here” or “read more” without context)
Known issues
We’re transparent about what we’re still working on:
- Partial AI demo widget – the live chat demo on the homepage works with keyboard but may not announce all state changes to screen readers optimally
- Pass Skip navigation link – keyboard users can bypass the main nav and jump to the page content
- Partial Cal.com embed – third-party scheduling widget’s internal accessibility is outside our direct control
- Partial Mobile nav – the hamburger menu uses ARIA expanded/collapsed states, but we continue testing it across devices and assistive technologies
How we test
Roving Leads accessibility testing includes:
- Automated testing: axe DevTools, Lighthouse accessibility assessment, WAVE evaluation tool
- Manual testing: Keyboard-only navigation, screen reader testing (NVDA on Windows), zoom/reflow testing up to 400%
- Browser testing: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge – current and one version back
- Device testing: Desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports
Roving Leads tests on every major page update. We’re a small operation, so we don’t have a full-time QA team – but accessibility isn’t something we “get to later.” It’s checked before anything goes live.
Third-party content
Some parts of our site rely on third-party tools:
- Cal.com (scheduling) – we’ve chosen Cal.com partly for its accessibility focus, but can’t guarantee it meets AA in all edge cases
- Stripe (payments) – checkout is handled by Stripe, so Stripe controls the accessibility of its hosted checkout flow
- Analytics – if enabled, analytics should not interfere with page structure, keyboard use, or screen reader output
If a third-party component creates a barrier for you, let us know and we’ll find an alternative path.
Need help accessing something?
If you’re having trouble using any part of our website, we want to hear about it – and we want to help immediately, not just “file a ticket.”
