Privacy policy

The short version

Roving Leads collects the minimum needed to run a consulting business – your contact details, business details, payment status, and whatever you choose to share in forms, calls, files, or emails. We don’t sell your data. We don’t run behavioral ads. If analytics are enabled, they should be privacy-first and not used to track you personally. If you use the AI demo on our homepage, your question gets sent to an AI provider – see our AI Disclaimer for details.

What we collect

Information you give us directly

• Name, email, phone number, business name, website, service area, and project details when you fill out our contact, intake, lead magnet, or assessment forms
• Calendar booking details (when you schedule a call via Cal.com)
• Payment and checkout details handled by Stripe, such as purchase amount, selected service, payment status, and transaction identifiers. We do not store full card numbers on our website.
• Optional files you choose to upload for an assessment or project intake
• Anything you tell us on calls, in emails, or in project work

Information collected automatically

• Page views and referrer data if privacy-first analytics are enabled (no personal data, no advertising profile, no cross-site tracking)
• Basic server logs (IP address, browser, timestamp) – standard for any website
• Theme preference (light/dark) stored in localStorage on your device

Information from the AI demo

• If you use the live AI demo on our homepage, the text you type is sent through OpenRouter, which may route the request to one or more third-party large language model providers. We do not store your demo conversations on our side beyond standard server logs.

Why we collect it

• To respond to your inquiry and schedule calls with Roving Leads
• To deliver consulting services you’ve hired us for
• To process purchases, confirm payment status, and match paid orders to intake submissions
• To send requested resources such as our free starter kit PDF
• To understand which pages on our site are useful (via anonymous analytics)
• To power the AI demo feature on our homepage

We do not use your data for behavioral advertising, retargeting, or building marketing profiles. We never will.

Who we share it with

Roving Leads shares data only with tools that are necessary to run the business:

• Cal.com – handles scheduling (receives your name, email, and chosen time)
• Stripe – payment processing, checkout, receipts, and payment-status updates
• Privacy-first analytics provider – aggregate website analytics if enabled
• OpenRouter and model providers it routes to – power the AI demo and may receive the text you type in that demo
• Email and hosting providers – deliver emails, forms, lead magnet messages, and normal website operations
• Cloudflare – CDN and security (standard web infrastructure)

Roving Leads does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Period.

Cookies and tracking

We keep cookies to a minimum:

• Essential: Theme preference (light/dark), cookie notice choice, form security, and session tokens if logged in
• Analytics: Any analytics we use should be privacy-first and should not be used for behavioral ads or cross-site tracking
• Functional: Tip-widget dismissal (sessionStorage, not a cookie)

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party ad tracking cookies. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

AI tools and your data

The live demo on our homepage sends your typed questions through OpenRouter, which routes requests to third-party large language models. We may change the underlying model as cost, speed, quality, and availability change. The response is displayed on the page.

• We do not store your demo conversations on our servers
• OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to have their own data handling and retention policies
• Do not put confidential business information into the demo

Your rights (CCPA)

Roving Leads is based in California. Even where a specific privacy law may not apply to a small business, you can still ask us to explain, correct, or delete personal information we reasonably can access. Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we’ve collected about you
• Delete your personal information from our records
• Opt out of sale – though we don’t sell personal data to anyone, ever
• Non-discrimination – exercising your rights won’t affect the quality or pricing of our services

To exercise any of these rights, email help@rovingleads.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We’ll respond within 10 business days.

How long we keep your data

• Contact, lead magnet, and intake submissions: Kept while the relationship is active, then reviewed for deletion or archiving within 12 months of last meaningful contact unless we need to keep it for business, tax, legal, or security reasons
• Client project data: Retained for the duration of the engagement plus 12 months, then reviewed for secure deletion unless you request earlier deletion and we are able to comply
• Payment records: Retained as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargeback, and legal obligations
• Analytics data: Aggregate analytics only, where enabled
• Server logs: Rotated and deleted within 90 days

Changes to this policy

If Roving Leads changes this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and bottom. Major changes get announced via email to active clients. We won’t quietly make your data less protected – that goes against everything this business stands for.
