Make every AI dollar serve growth.
You don’t need every AI tool on the market. You need the ones that actually fit your business, save time, capture revenue, or prevent waste. Roving Leads helps you decide what to automate, buy, ignore, or build. No hype, no upsells, no contracts.
What AI consulting actually means.
AI consulting is independent advisory work that helps a business decide where AI fits — and where it doesn’t. It includes tool selection, workflow analysis, a phased roadmap, budget planning, and buy-vs-build recommendations. The output is a written plan you can act on with or without us.
Most “AI consultants” are really salespeople for one platform. They tell you what you need based on what they sell. Roving Leads doesn’t sell software. We don’t take affiliate commissions. We don’t lock you into anyone’s ecosystem.
What we do is sit with you, look at how your business actually runs, and tell you the truth: what AI can help with right now, what to wait on, what to never bother with, and what it’ll cost you. Then you decide what to do — with us, with someone else, or by yourself. No pressure. No retainer trap.
Built for the business owner who’s tired of guessing.
Good fit
- Small business owners (1–50 employees) who know AI matters but don’t know where to start
- Owners already using AI tools but not seeing real results
- Service businesses scoping a 6–12 month plan: insurance agencies, ecommerce brands, veterinary clinics, event venues, accounting firms
- Founders evaluating whether to hire, build internally, or outsource AI work
- Anyone who’s been pitched by an AI agency and walked away unsure
Not a fit
- Enterprise teams with dedicated AI departments
- Anyone looking for a software demo dressed up as “consulting”
- Businesses that want to be told what to buy without understanding why
- Teams already locked into a roadmap they can’t change
A written plan — not a slide deck.
Every Roving Leads consulting engagement produces a written deliverable. Here’s the phased work that goes into it.
We look at your tools, workflows, team, and data — and identify the three highest-leverage places AI can help right now. Not theoretical. Specific.
We tell you exactly which tools fit (and which don’t), what they cost, and whether to subscribe, custom-build, or wait. No vendor preference. No kickbacks.
We trace where time leaks out of your business. Then we mark which leaks AI can fix and which need a human or a process change instead.
A phased plan: what to do in the first 30 days, what to layer in by day 60, what to evaluate at 90. Each phase has owner, cost, and expected outcome.
Real numbers. Tool costs, our time (if any), opportunity cost. We tell you what’s worth spending and what’s not.
We look at what 3–5 competitors in your industry are doing with AI. You learn what’s table stakes, what’s a moat, and what nobody’s tried yet.
Optional. After the plan lands, you can keep us on for monthly office hours — questions, gut-checks, course corrections. Cancel anytime.
From first call to written plan in about a week.
Here’s what it looks like to work with Roving Leads — from your first call to full handoff.
- 01 · Free 20-minute call. You tell us about your business, what you’re stuck on, what you’ve already tried. We ask questions. No pitch — just listening.
- 02 · 24-hour custom plan. We research your business, industry, and competitors overnight. The next day you get a written plan with scope, timeline, and price.
- 03 · You approve, we start. If the plan fits, we get going. Most engagements kick off within a few days.
- 04 · Discovery & deliverables. 1–3 weeks depending on scope. Tool assessment, workflow mapping, vendor research, roadmap drafting. You get weekly check-ins.
- 05 · Plan delivered, you decide. We hand off the written plan. You can execute it yourself, hire someone else, or keep us on for ongoing advisory. No retainer required.
The kind of questions owners bring us.
Anonymized — but these are the real types of engagements we scope for South Bay businesses.
“Should we build our own intake AI or buy one?”
We benchmarked four off-the-shelf legal intake tools against the cost of building a custom agent. Recommendation: subscribe to one for 6 months, then revisit. Build cost wasn’t justified yet. → ~$28k saved on premature build
“We’re drowning in tenant requests and maintenance tickets.”
We built a triage agent that categorizes incoming requests, routes emergencies to on-call, and auto-responds to routine questions. Freed up 12 hours per week of admin time within the first month. → 12 hrs/week reclaimed
“We’re spending 20 hours a week on customer support emails.”
Mapped the support workflow. 70% of tickets were repeats. Recommended an AI triage layer at $89/mo instead of hiring a third support rep at $4k/mo. Implemented in two weeks. → ~14 hrs/week reclaimed
Consulting pricing. Clear floor, scoped work.
Scoped to your business.
Some businesses need a one-time roadmap. Others need monthly office hours. Some need both. We keep the hourly rate clear and scope larger projects in writing.
- Most one-time engagements run 1–3 weeks
- Ongoing advisory is month-to-month — cancel anytime
- You pay any tool licenses directly. No markup. Ever.
- If we’re not the right fit, we’ll point you somewhere that is
- Can follow an AI Readiness Assessment ($499–$1,499) when deeper planning is needed
Discovery, plan, handoff. You execute it yourself or with anyone you choose. Flat price.
Monthly office hours after the plan lands. Questions, gut-checks, course corrections. Month-to-month.
South Bay AI consulting. Remote everywhere.
Roving Leads is headquartered in Redondo Beach, California, and we specialize in AI consulting for small businesses across the South Bay. Most engagements happen remotely, but we meet in person when your project calls for it — workshops, team kickoffs, on-site assessments.
Outside the South Bay? We work with small businesses nationwide. Same process, same deliverables.
Real questions from real business owners.
How is this different from hiring an AI agency?
Most agencies want to sell you their service stack. Roving Leads is independent — we don’t sell software, take affiliate commissions, or lock you into anything. The plan we deliver is yours. You can execute it with us, with someone else, or by yourself.
Do I have to hire you to implement after the consulting?
No. About half our consulting clients execute the plan themselves or with their internal team. We’re fine either way. The fee for consulting is the fee for consulting — not a sales call for the next thing.
What if I already use AI tools — is this still useful?
Often more useful, actually. We see the same pattern a lot: businesses paying for 6 AI subscriptions and getting value from 2. We help you figure out which 2, and what to do about the other 4.
How long does the engagement take?
Most one-time roadmaps run 1–3 weeks depending on business complexity. Ongoing advisory is month-to-month after that.
Do you charge for the first call?
No. The 20-minute discovery call is free. We use it to understand your business and decide if we’re a good fit. If we’re not, we’ll tell you.
What does “buy-vs-build” advice actually look like?
A real example: client asked if they should build a custom AI scheduling agent. We compared the build cost (~$8k + ongoing maintenance) to existing tools at $40/mo. We recommended the tool. Six months later, if they’ve outgrown it, we revisit.
Is this just for South Bay businesses?
No. We’re South Bay-based and South Bay-loyal, but consulting is delivered remotely. We work with clients anywhere in the US.
